Last week I was invited to participate in the highly anticipated Best Buy / Stanton powered launch of DJ HERO in Los Angeles at the Key Club. The set up was crazy. Inside they had stage performances by Z-Trip, Jazzy Jeff - both in the game - Public Enemy and myself. Outside they had real DJ systems alongside the DJ Hero consoles for partygoers check out. I had double duty and played 15 minute sets outside as well on the real turntables to show the partygoers the similarities between the actual and the game. I gotta say if you are a gamer and into music you will love DJ Hero. If you are a career DJ though, there are elements in the game that aren’t a part of the dj’ing process.
